"Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity."

Hope Miller, GPCC, BCC

Since 2012 I have worked as a coach and facilitator, helping individuals and groups deepen their self awareness and make choices more aligned with their values, energy, and intentions.

As a Gestalt Professional Certified Coach (G.P.C.C.)  and a Board Certified Coach (B.C.C.), I believe deeply in the power of awareness—of noticing, listening, and attuning. What are our thoughts, even the “negative” ones, trying to tell us? What are our physical sensations trying to say?

We live in a culture that teaches us not to listen, to tamp down the awareness, to ignore the sensation.

Here in North America, this is how we’re conditioned to exist. However, when we slow down…really listen, really pay attention…something subtle and amazing happens. We discover who we are. We learn about ourselves.

And this is the moment change begins.

I know how to do this work because I have walked this path.

Growing up closeted in the South, I struggled to figure out who I was and how I was going to be in this world. For years during my adolescence, I experienced crippling clinical depression and unsettling spiritual emergence.

While traditional psychiatric and mental health approaches helped (especially psychotherapy), I didn’t fully come to understand myself until I began practicing meditation in 1999 and yoga in 2001.

My own journey and the healing experiences I’ve had with yoga, breathwork, meditation, nature, writing, and psychedelics drive me to do this work.

Based on what my life experiences have shown me, I hope to prevent unnecessary suffering for others.  A wise teacher once said to me, “suffering is necessary until it isn’t.” Maybe the clock has run out on your suffering and it’s time to change. It’s time for renewal.

Following my authentic path led to outcomes I never would have originally imagined.

In addition to creating a healing arts practice, I have worked as a teacher, writer and editor, and corporate leadership consultant. I live in Ohio with my wife, daughter, and several animals, including goats and chickens. Each summer, the best tomatoes I grow are the ones that I didn’t plant but appear spontaneously.

This process of renewal involves slowing down to listen—listen to our bodies, breath, and the natural world around us—and reconnecting to the rhythm and the flow.

My Background

  • Gestalt Institute of Cleveland’s Coach Training Program

In 2024, I graduated from the renowned Gestalt Institute of Cleveland’s ICF-accredited coach training program. In addition to being a Gestalt Professional Certified Coach (G.P.C.C.), I am also a Board Certified Coach (B.C.C.) through the Center for Credentialing and Education.

Since 2012, I’ve coached leaders across the globe on their presence and communication with the aim of helping them deepen their emotional intelligence and mindfulness. With my non-corporate clients, I’ve helped them make space for creativity in their lives, address anxiety and trauma, navigate complex relationships and major life decisions, and develop more awareness and insight into who they are.

  • Certificate in Integrative Psychedelic Studies, VITAL Training Program

In 2026 I graduated from Psychedelics Today’s rigorous VITAL training program, earning a Certificate in Integrative Psychedelic Studies with a specialization in Spiritual Emergence. VITAL aims to be the planetary leader in psychedelic education and training.

My journey with psychedelics began in 1994 with a profound spiritual experience on LSD. In 2023, I began working with psychedelic mushrooms.

  • Permaculture Design Certificate, Cincinnati Permaculture Institute

In 2020, I earned my Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) from the Cincinnati Permaculture Institute. Guided by the ethics of “Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share,” Permaculture is a design process that mimics the structures and systems of nature to create regenerative landscapes that support local biodiversity.

I like to be outside, hiking and planting. On our 1.3 acre urban homestead—which we call “Osage Hill”—I apply permaculture principles, restoring native ecosystems and honoring nature’s whole-system approach to life. One day the bucks will stop pilfering our apples; in the meantime, I will just keep planting more trees.

All of the photos here on my website were taken on our property.

  • Yoga Teacher Training in India, Yoga Alliance

In 2006, I graduated from a Yoga Alliance-certified 200-hour teaching training with Akhanda Yoga Institute in Rishikesh, India with a focus on asana, pranayama, yogic philosophy, and anatomy. My teacher is Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu.

My yoga and meditation practice began at the turn of the century, and I have since taught yoga in a variety of settings, including gyms, yoga studios, churches, and treatment centers. Connecting to our breath and feeling into our bodies can truly transform us.

  • Literature and Education

My academic background is in literature and education. I have a B.A. in Literature from Yale, an M.A. in English from the University of Utah, and a M.A.T. in secondary English from Agnes Scott College.

I love literature and see the healing power of reading and writing poetry (and might invite you to write some poetry, as well). Additionally, my work as a teacher, coach, and facilitator has been deeply influenced by the ideas of Paulo Freire, the revolutionary Brazilian educator.
